Rough cut 10/03/10

Rough cut deadline. We are planning to finish rough cut today and we are just editing our clips.
and by the end we are going to put it on our blog.

Filming Timetable

We have already had one filming day on Saturday 27th march, on this day we made sure we had all the equipment we needed and we got some of the filming done. Our next filming day will be Friday 5th march, during this filming session we will try to complete all the scenes that we need Harvey to help in. We will also try to get all of the scenes in the reception done. we will start filming at 11 and will finish filming at 12:30. Me and Austin will be there earlier and finish later to get out all the equipment and then put it all back. We will also try to do more filming at the weekend if it is needed. If we do me and Austin will go to the Hotel on Sunday 7th march at 3 and will finish at 7, Harvey can't come on Sunday, this is the reason we will try to Finish Harvey's scenes on Friday.

lesson plan

In the lesson today we planned to finish the storyboard and write out filming timetable on the blog. Harvey decided that he would do the storyboard while i decided to write about the filming timetable. Austin was doing some more blogging and thinking of out camera angles for each shot. We were planning to finish all of these things by today.

Equipment Used

Tri-Pod-1970's We were going to use a modern tripod when(harvey)forgot his, so after looking for more props around the hotel we found this tripod which helped alot . It was really hard using this tripod because you had to unscrew the legs to extend it then you had to screw it on again to make it stay still. in comparison to a modern trip you only have to flick the lock to extend and to lock it



Fish Eye lense - the idea of using a fish eye lense is to make the field of vision of the camera wider we used it in narrow spaces around the hotel so everything didnt seem compacted - Harvey

Main Costumes

Waitering outfit- Ciros working clothe, we used this costume for the scene when the receptionists help the hitman to his room-Harvey Ciro

Filming dates

We are thinking of filming on saturday 27th of feb because its the most convenient time for the whole group to get together.
Getting to the hotel is a problem for 1 person but for the other two is no problem.
We might finish all of it on saturday if not we might do it on the weekday after that saturday

Fonts

Here are some fonts that we thought would look good for our title sequence and credits:

1. Think about different shot types.

2. Organisation- time- decent shot list tick it off as you go along.

3. Think ahead about credits, where will they go.

4. Stick to your storyboard if possible.

5. Shout out shot number before each shot/take.

6. Lights, camera, action.

7. Sort out roles-swap if necessary.

8. Think distance for camera and sound.

9. Lighting, test.

10. Perform.

we have already decided on some of these, one of the things we have decided on is the roles which we have chosen.

we chose to just have the three people in are group acting in our media project. we are going to have three different characters in the opening scene that we are filming. The first will be the receptionist who will be acted out by Ciro, the second is a guest, the reason we have added this person is to add realism to the scene, the guest will be played by Harvey. The last character will be the assassin who will be played by Austin. We might use some other people as extras but none of these will have speaking roles.

Character

Our main character is going to be quite similar to jason bourne from 'the bourne identity' and bob swagger from 'shooter' as he is a trained assassin/soldier but he begins to rebel against the people that made trained him to kill. The character will attract sympathy from the audience as it begins to seem like the whole world is against him. We are not yet sure about how much of the story we can get across in the 2 minutes we are allowed but we will try and give away as many clues as possible.

I think that a political thriller is a movie that has a main plot that is based on a problem in government that could have a major effect on people. The reason it normally has to have an affect on people is this allows them to relate to it.
