Here is a screenshot we have taken from our project, showing the assassin viewing a picture of his possible target. We decided to use it instead of a photo on paper because we wanted to be different from traditional techniques and use modern ones instead.

Here is a shot of our CCTV footage. We used a wide angle lens to give an ultra wide view like CCTV cameras. We made the footage black and white then the frame lines and the recording symbol in final cut after filming.

Here is a shot that we thought quite a lot about, as it builds tension. It is a close up shot that is made to look hand held to add tension.

Final Cut.

SCREENGRABS

Thursday 18 March 2010

Last few days.

for the last two lessons we have been busy working hard to meet the final deadline. We are fairly pleased with our end result and are confident that we have improved in most areas since the children's film opening. In the last lesson we focussed mainly on the titles, ident, ending and smoothness of clips and transitions.

We are now preparing for the evaluation for our project. Here are the questions that we have to answer as part of the evaluation:
1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge conventions of real media products?

2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?

3. What kind of media institution would distribute your media product?

4. Who would be the audience for your media product?

5. How did you attract/address your audience?

6. What have you learnt about the technologies from the process of constructing your product?

7. Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to your final product?

Last day of filming

We managed to finish all of the filming on Friday the 5th February which meant we didn't need to continue on Monday. Me and Austin went to the hotel earlier to get all the equipment set up and in our costumes. When Harvey got there we filmed the first few scenes as we had filmed he last scenes before. Harvey then had to leave before we had finished filming but as Austin was the only person still in the film so i filmed the last scenes. Now we just need to capture and edit the film.

Filming Timetable

We have already had one filming day on Saturday 27th march, on this day we made sure we had all the equipment we needed and we got some of the filming done. Our next filming day will be Friday 5th march, during this filming session we will try to complete all the scenes that we need Harvey to help in. We will also try to get all of the scenes in the reception done. we will start filming at 11 and will finish filming at 12:30. Me and Austin will be there earlier and finish later to get out all the equipment and then put it all back. We will also try to do more filming at the weekend if it is needed. If we do me and Austin will go to the Hotel on Sunday 7th march at 3 and will finish at 7, Harvey can't come on Sunday, this is the reason we will try to Finish Harvey's scenes on Friday.

lesson plan

In the lesson today we planned to finish the storyboard and write out filming timetable on the blog. Harvey decided that he would do the storyboard while i decided to write about the filming timetable. Austin was doing some more blogging and thinking of out camera angles for each shot. We were planning to finish all of these things by today.

Diegetic

In the bedroom scene we have decided to include my character turning on the radio. As the song is coming from the radio it is Diegetic. We have chosen this song specifically to add contrast to the somewhat dark image of most thrillers. The song is an upbeat happy song to show that the assassin does not feel remorse for the brutality of his job.

Equipment Used

Tri-Pod-1970's We were going to use a modern tripod when(harvey)forgot his, so after looking for more props around the hotel we found this tripod which helped alot . It was really hard using this tripod because you had to unscrew the legs to extend it then you had to screw it on again to make it stay still. in comparison to a modern trip you only have to flick the lock to extend and to lock it

Fish Eye lense - the idea of using a fish eye lense is to make the field of vision of the camera wider we used it in narrow spaces around the hotel so everything didnt seem compacted - Harvey

Main Costumes

Waitering outfit- Ciros working clothe, we used this costume for the scene when the receptionists help the hitman to his room-Harvey Ciro

Main Props

Radio- we are using the radio in the hotel to get a diegetic sound of superstitious by stevie wonder this could be in comparison towards the hitmans state of mind

Duffle Bag- the duffle bag will contain the assasins laptop to make it look like the bags full we put a pillow inside it. we will see a shot of the assasin getting his laptop out

the hitmans weapon- we got given this prop by ciros uncle PINO
its an air rifle we had to choose between this or a shot gun but the shotgun was innappropriate since it was real- Harvey Ciro-Austin

First filming session

on the 27th february we made a trip to the hotel to plan and hopefully film some of our project first hand. We began by Checking off the equipment that we had to see what else we needed. After this we found some of the props that we didn't have when checking them off eg. Suit bag, rifle, holdall, tripod. We went searching for suitable props and Ciro's uncle lent us His air rifle.
We then took still images of some of the angles we are planning on using for our film. We did this from the first shot and followed the route our main character is going to take through the hotel and to his room. We have made use of a fisheye, being the video from the CCTV cameras. The reason we are taking the images from the CCTV cameras is that we thought it would be a different angle and we thought it would make it look realistic.
We just had enough time to start filming and we decided to film the end sequence first as we had a room available in the hotel for us to use.
